The bathroom waste bin from Leroo made a good impression in our test. This item is currently available on Amazon in the colours black and white. The bin is a real eye-catcher in any bathroom, especially thanks to its elegant and modern look. The bin is made of stainless steel and has a capacity of 5 litres. With a height of 28 cm and a diameter of 20.5 cm, the pedal bin is the perfect size for a small bathroom. A matt powder coating on the outside prevents fingerprints from forming. Nevertheless, it should be mentioned that fingerprints and water marks can quickly accumulate on the shiny lid. The plastic bucket inside is 20 cm high and also has a diameter of 20.5 cm. The plastic bin can be easily removed and replaced with the help of a handle.
After opening the bin with the foot pedal, the soft-close function ensures that the lid closes automatically and silently. In addition, the precise fit of the lid and bin means that no odours can escape from inside the bathroom waste bin. Nevertheless, we cannot confirm the advertised slip resistance of the bin in our test, as the bathroom bin slipped several times in our practical test. It should also be mentioned that one of the bins sent to us was faulty.

We have looked at and tested the product in detail in a practical test. In the following, we take a closer look at the features and impressions. The product is subjected to our test procedure from the packaging, materials and quality to the range of functions and handling.

The pedal bin is in a white cardboard box (see picture) and was delivered in an undamaged brown cardboard box. The remaining space in the packaging box was stuffed with recyclable paper. This is an extremely sustainable solution to protect the product from impacts during transport, for example. The item is also packed extremely compactly. The product packaging is thick, extremely stable and has been customised to the exact dimensions of the bin. This has the advantage that the product does not wobble around inside the packaging and is ideally protected from external influences. The pedal bin has also been protected with a dust cover to protect it from scratches and dirt. There is also a “green dot” on the product packaging. This means that the bin can be disposed of in the yellow bin.
To summarise, we find the packaging to be very successful and visually appealing.

The waste bin (left in the picture) is supplied with a plastic bin inside (right in the picture). The pedal bin was additionally protected with a dust cover. This made a very high-quality first impression when unpacking. The pedal bin is visually very elegant and is 28 cm high and 20.5 cm in diameter. Inside is a black plastic bin with a handle, which is 20 cm high and also has a diameter of 20.5 cm. With a capacity of 5 litres, the pedal bin is the ideal size for a small bathroom.
Contact information such as the company name, address and e-mail address can be found on the back of the product packaging. However, we had to deduct ten points in the “Customer information” category, as a customer service telephone number would have been desirable.
The bin does not come with instructions for use. However, this is not absolutely necessary as the use is simple and self-explanatory.
Nevertheless, care instructions for cleaning the glossy lid would be desirable, as fingerprints and water marks can accumulate there.

First of all, it should be mentioned that the colour combination of white and silver is visually very appealing and looks classy.
It is also noticeable that the pedal bin is made of robust stainless steel. The white surface has a matt powder coating, which prevents fingerprints from accumulating here. On the other hand, the shiny lid of the bin is very susceptible to fingerprints.
A final conclusion on the “sustainability” category can only be drawn after a long period of use. However, due to the very good quality of the pedal bin, it can be assumed that the product is durable.
The soft-close function of the bin is particularly noteworthy. The lid closes automatically and silently.
However, it should be noted that one of the products sent to us was faulty. The inner plastic bin became wedged in the lid and could not be removed from it. We assume that this was a one-off fault, but we still have to deduct 40 points in the “workmanship” category due to this faulty item.

In our test, we tested the elegant pedal bin on both tiles and laminate. We also used the bin in the practical test with and without a plastic bag. Even with a plastic bag, the soft-close function makes a very good impression, as the bin closes without the plastic bag rustling. The soft-close function is therefore completely silent.
In addition, the lid closes absolutely tightly so that no odours escape from the bin.
The tread on the pedals also ensures that you don’t slip off them during use. However, it would be an advantage if the pedals were slightly larger, especially for large feet. This would make it easier to operate the pedals with more surface area underfoot.
The manufacturer promises that the pedal bucket will be slip-resistant during use. However, we were unable to confirm this slip resistance in our practical test, as the bin slipped almost every time the foot pedals were pressed. A solution to this would be desirable.
In our practical test, we also noticed that the powder-coated area of the pedal bin remains free of fingerprints. However, fingerprints and water marks collect very quickly on the shiny lid. A powder coating on the lid would therefore be a suggested solution to improve the product.
Overall, the pedal bin makes a good impression.

On the Amazon platform, consumers have given the product an average rating of 4.2 stars. One common criticism is that the bin starts to rust. Many customers like the fact that the bin closes silently. In our practical test, we were able to confirm that the pedal bin is closed silently by the soft-close function. We were unable to test whether the bin starts to rust, as this would require a practical test over several months.
Prices of up to €39.99 are charged on the Internet for equivalent products. Very inexpensive products are available from as little as €14.99. The bathroom waste bin from Leroo is currently priced at €24.90, which puts it in the middle price segment. The price ratio is reasonable for the quality and scope of services offered.
