On closer inspection during the test, there were no visual flaws and the appearance is both appealing and modern . The striking laser structure on the blades and the stylish epoxy resin handles give the knives an elegant and contemporary look. The first positive impression was also confirmed in the test by the high stability of the knives. They not only appeared solidly made, but also pleasantly heavy, which ensured good balance and a secure grip . The blades retained their shape even when subjected to moderate lateral loads. The use of high-quality, pollutant-free materials suggests an environmentally friendly and durable solution, even if Messerhai does not provide any specific information on sustainability. The 8-piece knife set from Messerhai was thoroughly convincing in our practical test. The knives delivered precise and clean cuts on various foods such as vegetables, meat and bread. The chef’s knife, which proved to be particularly versatile, should be emphasised, while the smaller knives such as the Santoku and the paring knife proved to be very efficient, especially when finely slicing and peeling fruit and vegetables. The ergonomically shaped epoxy resin handles offer a high level of user comfort. They sit comfortably in the hand and are pleasant to work with, even when cutting for long periods, even with wet hands. The knives are also characterised by their excellent balance, which is supported by the relatively high weight of the handles. This enables precise and relaxed cutting, as the knives are well balanced and do not place unnecessary strain on the wrists and arms. Fine and precise cuts, such as wafer-thin tomato slices and small onion cubes, were also easy to perform with the knives in the test thanks to their excellent sharpness. The knives are easy to clean by hand with warm water and washing-up liquid. They are not dishwasher-safe, which makes cleaning a little more time-consuming at first glance, but contributes to the longevity of the knives.
Overall, the knife shark set offers high cutting performance, convenient handling and excellent balance, making it a valuable addition to any kitchen.
